My job: Negotiator
A close friend of mine, who will recognize himself, recently asked me what my vision of my job as a lawyer is today.The word that came to mind was negotiator.
Because in my chosen field (corporate transactions and mergers & acquisitions), negotiation strategy and the ability to analyze the wishes, needs and frustrations of each party are essential. Like in a game of chess, you have to anticipate the next moves...
Because in another of my favorite fields (disputes between partners), the height of vision, the finesse of character analysis, the precision of negotiations and... patience, are essential.
So yes, today I see my job as that of a negotiator, a facilitator. This is what makes me love this wonderful profession again and again.
